Enterprise Architect Specialist


The Enterprise Architect Specialist plays a crucial role in the strategic planning of Technology Services. They are responsible for defining the overall technology architecture that aligns with the business strategy and for designing and constructing enterprise technology solutions. They provide technical expertise to the enterprise planning process and maintain architectural models of enterprise business processes and rules, information, and technology. Additionally, they serve as technical leads or resources on project teams, ensuring adherence to principles and methodologies in information systems development.


Responsibilities:

  • Extensive technical breadth with deep knowledge in one or more disciplines
  • Professional level understanding of required competencies with demonstrated skills and substantial practical experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Key resource for enterprise architecture issues across functional and organizational lines
  • Participates in defining future information technology architecture


Knowledge of:

  • Business requirements and processes related to enterprise architecture
  • Architecture design principles, concepts, and techniques
  • Object-oriented analysis and design
  • The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and other design methods
  • Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Experience with network meter reading and multiplexers
  • Understanding of Ethernet, T-1 circuits, and high-speed voice and data transmission
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems, remote terminal units (RTU), and radio systems
  • Proficient in fiber and conduit modeling and documentation software
  • Familiarity with electrical principles and power within a utility network
  • Expert knowledge of performance enabling standards and technologies
  • Proficiency in systems integration methods and technologies
  • Understanding of services design, storage management, and network services
  • Knowledge of asset management, service level agreements, and information security
  • Familiarity with transaction processing, user interfaces, and operating systems
  • Skill in system modeling (UML) and infrastructure technologies
