Job Description

Our Houston-based client is seeking a hands-on InfoSec Manager for their expanding team. This candidate will report directly to the Sr Director of Information Security and will be the company’s security SME, responsible for managing and leading a team of InfoSec Analysts. This role will focus on overseeing the implementation of security measures to effectively safeguard sensitive data and the organization's IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of InfoSec analysts responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to protect the organization's technology infrastructure and data.
  • Coordinate and manage SOC support with MSP
  • Develop and implement security strategies, policies, and procedures to secure the company's information technology environment.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to identify security risks and develop mitigating solutions.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, management, monitoring, and upgrading of security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks.
  • Manage high-level security escalations and incident response.
  • Coordinate with the team to troubleshoot security and network problems.
  • Ensure that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling and leading the appropriate security controls.
  • Participate in and oversee the change management process.
  • Work with the team to test and identify network and system vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with relevant departments in the organization.
  • Assist in the development of technical security standards to support policies, including creating and coordinating security monitoring standards and incident response.
  • Respond to and manage IT network security incidents of varying complexity, providing initial assessment of impact severity and types of incidents being addressed. Maintain an incident tracking system up-to-date.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience. MS in Comp Sci or Security is preferred.
  • 7+ years of work experience in information security, including incident detection, incident response, and forensics.
  • Proven experience managing and leading a team of security professionals.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, data flows, and vulnerabilities within a TCP/IP environment.
  • Experience using ProofPoint or Defender platforms.
  • Experience with offshore vendor management.
  • Working knowledge of Azure, Windows Workstation/Server, Routing, and Cloud Technologies.
  • Security +, CISSP, GIAC, Firewall, and Azure Cloud certifications are strongly preferred.
