Job Description

The IT Business Analyst role is responsible for developing business and technical requirements for complex projects and programs across a diverse set of technologies such as ERP, CRM and MES.


In addition to creating documentation and developing various forms of intellectual property for numerous, concurrent projects and programs across the portfolio. Individuals in this role use technical knowledge and related experience to work with business and technical experts to perform various types of analysis to identify and document requirements, processes, and specifications needed to complete project deliverables with a focus on effective use of people, process, tools, and technology.


The IT Business Analyst role supports our PMO and reports to the IT Director, Applications and is a integral part of the IT department. This role requires regular reporting of analytic results, status, risks, and documentation of issues as they arise, leveraging tools, data and process information collected throughout the project/program duration.

The IT Business Analyst role supports the program or portfolio project management process through governance by:

  • Defining and documenting business and technical needs,
  • prioritizing requirements, functional specifications, and other technical documentation.
  • Performs in-depth analysis on various project/program elements (i.e., costs, resource usage, schedules, etc.)
  • Conducts requirements meetings, documents issues, and risks that may be discovered through stakeholder analysis, project planning, execution, and change management process.
  • Performs analysis of collected information to identify patterns and develop potential solution options in collaboration with solution architects, analysts, engineers, project managers and project sponsors.
  • Uses complex data and process information to compile and produce process flows, reports and various audiences.
  • Distributes critical project or program communications and other relevant information as directed by the Project Manager or IT Applications Director.
  • Documents business processes using process mapping tools, identifies process gaps and organizational change management opportunities. 
  • Manages document version controls and supports the project using technology tools such as Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Power BI, Visio, Excel, and project logs.
  • Provide Guidance to project teams and executives regarding burndown reporting and cost analysis for project spending and related costs.  


Minimum Qualifications

Epicor ERP, Peoplesoft and/or Salesforce Experience a plus

Expert Level Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project)

 Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with a focus on business analysis, a bachelor’s degree, or any equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

 Must have strong communication, interpersonal and quantitative skills. Strong experience taking raw data gathered via conversation and drawing actionable insights from it.

 Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service.

 Effectiveness is working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives.


Preferred Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Administration or Engineering

 PMP, PMI-PBA, CSM, SAFe a plus

Experience with or working knowledge of Project Management, Manufacturing, Commodities
